Owner's Description
A remarkablely sharp 1803 half dime with outstanding hair detail. This variety, which Valentine listed as V-2 (now LM-2) is often noted for poor strikes. This one blows Eliasberg's coin out of the water. <br /><br /><br /><br />This coin is the piece that was plated in Walter Breen's Encyclopedia of U.S. coin as variety # 2980 at the bottom of page 280.
