Owner's Description
The Sacagawea Dollar is the U.S. Government's latest attempt to get the public to accept a one dollar coin. The benefit would be that a dollar coin would be far more durable in circulation than the paper dollar thus saving considerable government funds. Most of the public is not interested in weighing down their pockets with more coins, however. Thus the Sacagawea has joined the Eisenhower and Susan B. Anthony dollars as another failed experiment. The nearly all of coins languish in vaults or appear in numismatic collections.

This NGC MS-65 Sacagawea Dollar was given to me at the NGC meeting which was held at the 2007 FUN show. Since I am not major collector of circulating modern coinage, this piece satisfies my need to fill all the holes in my registry set.
