And in our next issue, we jump straight into a retelling of X-Men 14 and 15, leaving us to wonder what happens in part three of the Sentinel story line. What I ask? WHAT???
Another book that was signed at C2E2 on 4/25/2015 by the legend, and the writer, Stan Lee.
Special accolades: First SS copy in the census.

From whence comes Dominus? Whence I ask!? WHENCE?!? Reprints X-Men 21.
I knew this one would sit well with the good people at CGC, but I never would've guessed this well. For an original price of $25.72, I'd say I'm extremely pleased with how this one turned out. Another book that was signed by writer Roy Thomas on 6/17/2016 at HeroesCon.

The Menace of Merlin! Apparently the X-Men have traveled back to Medieval England. Reprints X-Men 30.
Ideally I'd have waited on a Roy Thomas appearance to have this book signed, but after unpacking it I knew right away I had to jump on the first signing opportunity I could. Since a certain Mr. Stan Lee beat Roy Thomas to the signing table, I had it signed by Stan at C2E2 2015 (not on 8/1/2015, I haven't the faintest idea where CGC came up with that date).
BTW, original price -- $27. :D

The Juggernaut! At a slightly lower grade than I hoped! Reprints X-Men 33.
Another book picked up in the run up to WW Chicago, this one was signed by Stan Lee on 8/23/2014.
Considering the Juggernaut is such a popular villain, I'm a bit shocked to be able to type...

Along Came a Spider, the reprint edition! Reprints X-Men 35.
I plucked this book off of eBay in the run up to WW Chicago 2014 as it was the nicest copy I could find that wasn't severely overpriced.
On 8/23/2014, it was signed by the legend himself, creator of both Spider-Man and the X-Men, Stan Lee.
Personally, I thought this might grab a 9.0, but as experience has shown, CGC and I often disagree on our Silver/Bronze grades. But I'm primarily a modern collector, so I can't argue too much.

Mekano may live, but he sucks at being graded by CGC. Reprints X-Men 36.
The bright side is I think I only paid about $10 for this book, and the pressing it received prior to grading definitely did wonders on it. I had hoped enough wonders to propel this into the low VF range, but alas it wasn't to be.
The book itself was signed by that Stan Lee fellow everyone is talking about on 8/23/2014 at WW Chicago.

Yeah buddy! Talk about a nice surprise. Reprints X-Men 37.
I had owned this book for probably 8 or 9 years by the time I finally dug it out of the closet and sent it off to be signed at WW New Orleans. In part I was intrigued by its potential since I thought it could land a solid VF grade, but also because there was only one other SS copy in the census at the time (a 5.0).
So off this book went, Stan Lee himself put sharpie to front cover (on 2/8/2014), and lo and behold a 9.4!!! Simply outstanding.

Speaking of nice surprises. Reprints X-Men 38.
Another book that I've owned for many years, my reasoning behind having this one signed was similar to that of X-Men 85 (except that this one would be the first SS copy in the census).
I sent it off to be signed by Stan Lee at WW New Orleans (which was accomplished on 2/8/2014), expecting to be satisfied with a solid 8.0 or 8.5.
Once again, I was thrilled that my undergrading had tempered expectations because...another 9.4!

The Fateful Finale! Cost me $9.99 in it's ungraded form. I'll chalk this one up as a great deal. Reprints X-Men 39.
This book continues my run of reprints signed by Mr. Stan Lee himself on 8/23/2014 at WW Chicago. Due to the dark cover and the fact that most reprint copies look like they spent time in bicycle spokes, I'm thrilled with the final grade of this book. Especially since it tied with the other SS 8.0 in the census for the top Signature Series copy when I first got it back (but has since been surpassed).
Thanks are due eBay seller digidurk for this book.

The X-Men meet the pre-Robert DeNiro/Aaron Eckhart Frankenstein's Monster! Reprints X-Men 40.
From the many books I acquired leading up to WW Chicago for Stan Lee's signature, this book easily qualifies as the biggest bargain of the bunch. Sans shipping, I ponied up a whopping $12.62 to pluck this one off of eBay, and as soon as I received it, I knew I had scored a winner.
On 8/23/2014 it was signed by Stan Lee, then given an all expenses paid trip to sunny Florida. A trip which culminated in a final grade of SS 9.2. On the surface, this book's condition rivals that of my SS 9.4 copies of 85 and 86.
