Picked up on ebay for $384 from krisofstack. First appearance of Poison Ivy!
Pamela Lillian Isley was an attractive and talented botanist who lived in Seattle. She became seduced by a criminal named Marc LeGrande, who needed her to assist him in stealing an Egyptian artifact with an ancient herb inside it. After the crime was committed, Legrande decided that Isley knew too much to be allowed to live, so he poisoned her with the herb inside the artifact. Synopsis courtesy of comicvine.com! Fortunately for Isley, she survived and became immune to all manner of toxins and diseases. She realized that she was completely unaffected by certain plant-based hypnotic toxins that she could use to control others. Calling herself Poison Ivy, she began wearing a revealing green plant-like costume and turned to a life of crime, combining her natural allure with hypnotic plant toxins in order to manipulate people (particularly men) into doing her bidding. After moving to Gotham City, she inevitably came into conflict with Gotham's greatest crime-fighter, Batman. Ivy nearly seduced Batman into becoming her partner-in-crime during their first encounter, and went on to become one of his most dangerous foes. Synopsis courtesy of comicvine.com!
My fist memories of this character were from Batman the Animated Series. I really enjoy that simple clean art that Bruce Timm exemplifies so well!

I picked this issue up for around $300. That was higher than OPG but this issue has been hot for collectors seeking Neal Adams early art and the first appearance of Ras Al Ghul. This book will continue to climb. I sent this same book in for SS with Neal Adams and it came back a 9.0, the same grade I sent it in as.
Ra’s al Ghul was born 700 years ago in a tribe of nomads in one of the Arabian deserts. When Ra’s was young, he became fascinated with science, but due to his nomad tribe, he was unable to study. Ra’s decided to leave his tribe and move to the city where he could study science. He became a physician and then quickly married the love of his life, Sora. Later, Ra’s discovered the secret lair of the Lazarus Pit. When a sadistic prince was dying (Ra’s did not know he was sadistic) Ra's tried to save him by putting him in the Lazarus Pit. When he emerged from the Lazarus Pit , it caused him to go completely insane and the prince would proceed to strangle Sora and killed her in the process. Synopsis courtesy of comicvine.com!
I liked Liam Neesons portrayal of Ras in Batman Begins. I hope that is not the last of the character on the big screen though. Thay can find a way for him to have survived the train weck!

This issue was a must have for me because it had the first appearance of Jason Todd and Killer Croc! I have it raw in NM condition but I got such a good deal on this slabbed one that I could not pass it up.
Waylon Jones was born with a condition that gave him a thick scaly hide and razor-sharp claws and teeth. As a child he was relentlessly bullied because of his monstrous appearance. When he was only eight years old he snapped and almost killed one of his schoolyard tormentors. For that little incident he spent the next eight years of his life in reform school. He didn't like it much. Over this time his contempt for humanity grew; and so did his body, mutating to grotesque proportions and becoming increasingly reptilian in appearance. The now sociopathic Waylon Jones celebrated his eighteenth birthday by becoming a cold-blooded murderer. He served twenty years for that crime and emerged from jail to join a traveling carnival. He quickly became the main attraction as the alligator-wrestler "Killer Croc". After a while Croc's ambitions and travels led him to Gotham, where he began to forge a criminal empire. His attempts to "set up shop" were repeatedly thwarted by Batman. While Croc's physical size and power increased, his intellectual abilities diminished. This left him a virtual slave to primal desires and homicidal psychosis. He took refuge in Gotham's sewers. Synopsis courtesy of comicvine.com!
I really like Killer Croc. He is your quintessential super-strong monster character! Jason Todd I enjoy better as the Red Hood!
