I received this book in a trade with one of the biggest (probably the biggest) double cover collectors out there. The book certainly looks a lot nicer than a 8.5 on the inner cover. The red ink on Spidey's costume looks so bright, you'd think you were standing in front of a stop sign. I decided to take the plunge and have Stan Lee sign the book for the Signature Series designation (thanks to Desert Wind Comics for providing that service!). First cover is 7.5.

A pretty solid looking book featuring the death of Captain Stacy. I bought this book in a lot from a CGC board member who really helped me out with a few of my double cover ASMs. The eye appeal on this book is really fantastic for a CGC 5.0/6.0. A piece out of both front covers on the upper right corner and some foxing brings this book down from a high VF. I sent this to Desert Wind Comics for a Stan Lee signing on a whim. I was originally planning on sending an Avengers #1 that I won on eBay but the seller didn't get it to me for over a month! I had to throw another book in to substitute and decided to throw this one in. I suppose it all worked out in the end because I'm pretty happy with my decision.

My very first double cover ASM. Very nice book, with a 9.2 outer and 9.4 inner cover. I originally bought this book as a CGC 9.6! Being a newbie, I accidentally crushed the case and cracked it (but didn't do any damage to the book or the inner well). I had to submit it again and apparently the graders thought they overgraded it the first time! One of my biggest "OOPS" moments in collecting.

This is probably the best deal I made for this set. I bought this raw on eBay assuming that it would be around 7.0-8.0. The exterior cover is indeed 7.0, but the interior is a 9.2. There is a weird shaped stain on the back cover (distributor's spray?). The book presents itself very nicely and is the gem of my set along with the Amazing Spider-Man #100.

A huge honking crease on the bottom right corner knocks both covers down to the Fine range. This is a pretty cool issue with an appearance by some of the X-Men and a Nightcrawler cover. 1st cover grades 5.5.

This is a beautiful specimen. Surprisingly, there is no notation that indicates that the first cover was never glued on. I confirmed with CGC that this was not merely an omission. The first cover is 9.6, the interior cover is a stunning 9.8 with white pages.

A very cool cover on this one. The book is a solid 9.6 with the 1st cover grading 9.4. I almost regret submitting this one to CGC because now no one can see the very stunning interior cover. Part of the wonderful "Last Hunt" storyline, this cover is one the reasons why Zeck is among my favorite artists.
