Nick Bradshaw's Red Sonja always looks psychotic - 100% total barbarian rage 100% of the time - and I love it. Not everyone is a huge fan of Amy Chu's run with RS in New York, but as a fish out of water storyline, it is pretty solid and there's good interior art throughout. This is run also has some seriously cool covers by myriad artists.
This cover? It has everything going for it. It's bright, dynamic, & dramatic, it features Red Sonja front and center, with clear lighting and good use of color - and she even stands out in the chaos that is the rest of the scene (another Bradshaw specialty). Overall? what? you can't hear me gushing about this cover? It's awesome! And she's a great Bounding [Bouncing?] Badass of Barbarianism

Campbell's covers are always sexy - and for Red he made her look strong too. Sure, she's kneeling, but it isn't a pose of submissiveness, it's strong, with her blade point in the ground and an aggressive look in her eye. The lack of setting makes it difficult to have much to say about this issue, I do love that it's greyscale with the exception of her hair and lips and I do love that he signs these in red. Artists as so much better about signature placement and color.

My only Tyler Kirkham signature. Not really my favorite. Sonya looks soft and she's oddly posed with her weight all over her right leg instead of balanced. And the whole sword thing is uncomfortably positioned. Plus it is far too short of a blade for Sonja - barely a good sized off-hand weapon. I'm not sure what's going on in the background with the flames but, they're kinda lame too.
Overall - well, obviously I bought this issue, this must have been the best condition copy to arrive at my LCS after manhandling by Diamond & UPS. But, just no. Ugh.

I didn't want to send this book in for the JonBoy signing opportunity, I wanted to send in the regular, full color, cover - but it was pretty badly banged up. This, surprisingly, looks really sweet with the gold signature. I do love seeing all the different artists takes on Sonja - this one has so much video game in it. Maybe not to everyone's taste, but different. And that's the key for me. So many cool different covers by such a huge variety of artists spread out over the multitudes of sets.
Also shown here from the same signing, and because there's no set for it, the absolutely gorgeous cover for Red Sonja, Black & White & Red, #2 cover B. Pretty sharp looking with that same gold signature.
