Set Description:
These are some hits! The 1sts! Some are no longer able to get up after the meeting up with an Amazing Parker, the Spider-Man! Have they been held accountable? Well, Spidey has the stories and experiences to go over the villains head as a teacher or at least an example of proper behavior, and for each new encounter! No, this isn't the famous "Charlotte's Web" tale, this is the new and improved Amazing Spider-man. Other adjectives are used as well from beginning to end. Will they ever run out of superlatives? Check to find out!
Goblins, GOBLINS & GOBLINS!!
Spider-man is not your typical strung-out yoyo! With web that sticks to anything and clinging to any wall, it is leaps and bounds above and not beneath. The head and not the tail of the two-sided coin finds our hero embellished upon with morals that first face front against any villain. On an attempted side of those institutions is the friendly neighborhood Spider-man that can cause the corrupt to own up for their actions and become able bodied worthy contributors to society, and it is all strung up to also face front from issue to issue and cover to cover. An Amazing Spider-man can tell you; these 1sts will have you wondering what it all can mean toward our "own" powers and responsibilities! The splendor beckoning the realization that we have ourselves to bring into account for the choices we have made, as consequences are real. Like unto Spider-man when claiming, "Captain America would have found a perfect solution, but a Spider-man is a man that has to make his choices and live with it!" ~ Amazing Spider-man #363

1st appearance of the Living Brain. Fantastic Four appearance in backup story. I bought this as a raw from Local Comic Shop Keith's Comics. I was all in raw and slabbing for $285! Win! It spent some quality time at CGC, probably due to the great price increase of 2022, yet I'm glad to soon have it delivered to add the pic. This was a win all around, as I had hopes for it, but thought it more like 2.5/2.0. Ha-ha. I'm stoked for 4.0, as this is "early Spider-man" at its finest. To think we have come so far with technology, that these innovative story books of old speak to the inspiration for today. I read this story as a kid in Spider-man Classics, a series that in the late 80's I had a comic subscription too. Nice to have this memento as a reminder of simpler times, when there was no type of real time tracking for mail. A modern marvel was the USPS back then, as online tracking proves today! Indeed, the inner workings of some business are now more apparent and public, and now it shows as a throwback to remind me of how long I've lived and what I've experienced personally!
Complete with a back cover picture of the reprints from the Dallas Morning News newspaper from the early 90's, where I can still now read the story!

Steve Ditko! I finally snagged me one, the 1st appearance of Mysterio. Stan Lee Story, even reading classic reprints as a kid the intrigue was phenomenal. Yes, before his time Ditko knocked it out with the trickster of Mysterio. Somehow, someway, this is other worldly. Doing the impossible, before it was thought possible, and all for the sake of taking down an Amazing Spider-man. The threat is real, and Spider-man cannot believe his eyes. Even in the movies and cartoons the Mysterio is formidable, got to be my 2nd favorite villain, if just for originality. Given the scope of what was only possible back then, way to GO! DITKO! He made it his own and with great success, to Stan's credit too! It takes a duo to give feedback and house ideas that eventually became the Marvel we know. Not all one man's accomplishment but by the coming together that the books wrote about! Success!
Complete with back cover picture of the prescreen pass of, "Spider-man: Far from Home!" I finally tracked it down in my emails, to see the movie before it hit theaters. My early days of prescreens, it was also a dine in theater, I took my mom for my early birthday! Bought her a milk shake! Yahoo! An awesome time and flick!

1st Ned Leeds. Daredevil and Avengers cameo. Fantastic Four and Sandman Appearance. Picked it up from Dave and Adams, for a little over $200. The Ned Leeds lead was cool to finally add, needed at least mid-grade for the hive of villainous scum. LOL, we have the current Ned Leads in the Spider-man movies promising up and down that he won't become a villain, though in the past, we were not so lucky. Great Jehoshaphat we've got Biblical Proportions to go to, but it may all be a ploy to satisfy viewers. As the last Spider-man, where the past ones showed up, went over really well. Better call who you know and pray that the resolve is quick, these still haven't been available as much in grade with price. Early Spider-man for the art and story is fun, even if this particular copy has a white border at the top, I assume it is a bit miscut.
Complete with a back cover picture of a Dallas Morning News newspaper reprint that excerpts the story of an early if not first appearance of the Sandman, and I don't mean Adam Sandler! These newspaper issues were a simpler time, and in the 90's, comics were that popular!

1st Cameo Appearance of Mary Jane Watson the red-head-bad-girl, face not shown. 1st appearance of Professor Spencer Smythe. The Spider-Slayer! "Its" 1st appearance as well! Where is Peter Parker? And who pray-tell is this "SPIDER-MAN!?!" Where and how does he EXIST?? Jameson is not done with Parker the Spider-man by a long shot. And any future Spider-slayers will tell you, Spidey doesn't go down as easy as a rolled-up newspaper. Poor Jameson just cannot see the big picture in letting a "Spider-man" be a hero. Jameson believes that to be unthinkable and wants Parker to get the "evidence" to incriminate. Bought from Duncanville Bookstore at the time of a Roy Thomas signing, because this LCS is quite a drive for me, and I had to double down on making it "worth it!" At the time it was about 2019 and it was kind of priced high at $175, but I thought "that is early silver age, a no brainer." I'm glad to have the earliest pictorial of MS Jane, face not shown. Even though it isn't the 1st time she is ever mentioned, as that was in ASM #15 when Aunt May wanted to set Peter Parker up on a blind date!
Complete with a back cover picture of "Moxxi!" Showing inspiration from the video game, "The Borderlands", entanglement ensues with J. Jonah Jameson and Mary Jane Watson all sounding the sirens of spunk, punk, and otherwise "Go Get Them Attitude!" Moxi Lady! Bought from GameStop!

1st appearance of Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn and Professor Miles Warren. Smooth Spider Action in Cover Attraction for the Ages! It has the divisiveness of a decisive story that makes you wonder where in the plot it is going in the future. A turn of events has Peter Parker wondering if new acquaintances are the makings of love or the tie that binds. Gwen is in the know for most things and teaches Parker what for, if she only knew the responsibility carried in the mind of Spidey and or his alter ego. Attraction can come when there is usefulness for all parties, and that spark ignites the interaction of closeness guaranteed to bring the security and knowledge of intimacy! Those are big shoes to fill, and circumstances seem in their proper order to make all those involved start thinking, "A Perfect Match!" This will be bigger on screen, but those big moments rival any villain around, as LOVE can truly rule and win over evil!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Atomic Blonde DVD portraying the giant size level of chemistry that the blondes such as Stacy bring to the table! When it is rumored as more fun, it can shake the cliche's to keep true with preppy style, and yet dangerously a heartbreaker all the same!

1st appearance of Norman Osborn and the Robot-Master (Mendel Stromm). Robot cover. Robots? Not that they necessarily transform physically, although some might and purposefully to pound a Spider-man to rubble. An old known acquaintance that speaks to Norman Osborn and how he is seen at the end trying to sway the robot's success while polishing his rifle. These are the back stories to now infamous villains and where they come from, i.e. their transformation into serious powers of influence that went on for decades. Those took a myriad of ways and intertwining that only a Spider-man can possibly hope to know the whole story. Early on in this volume it is just getting started, but already Spidey is placing tracers to track, which is almost before its time! We've got the innovative innovators putting good use to known technology at the time, and by way of spy vs spy it kept readers riveted to say the least!
Complete with a back cover picture of the screen at the prescreen before released publicly of, "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts!" As a robot take over is imminent, and beyond the skies comes the trigger event! Found on earth, however, for them to then activate, initiate, and otherwise continue to transform as thinking living robots for world domination. "ROLL OUT!" These are the innovative transversing's that we are accustomed too in said universe of future, current and past "robots", and with what motivation they are perceived!

1st full appearance of Mary Jane Watson, with the Origin of Rhino! A Dave & Adams find, glad to have this as Mary Jane was the only Peter Parker Girl that was quoted to be sexy enough to keep around. Gwen Stacy was too goody two shoes according to creators. Stan Lee you dog! Lol Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld, "Rhino-plasty, really? The person is already aware there is a problem. Rhino?" Yes, the Rhino charges, bucks, and bronc's and keeps Spidey on his toes, until one blow. Winded, it is now the Spider's turn, bobbing and weaving, they take turns. I hope Mary Jane will console; we've got to give some space for the story to grow. A Campbell print to top it off of everyone's loyal girl, Mary Jane Watson, and if ever to be, the official Mrs. Parker! She saw Parker as the old softy but sometimes a stubborn Spidey wins over, as when Peter gets his personality in the way of his sarcastic brain!
Complete with a back cover picture! Mary Jane in the modern age for sure, but her and Parker first met in the silver age. Bought at Fan Expo Dallas in 2018, I believe, with a 3 pack of prints for $60 from J Scott Campbell's booth. It was nice to visit his table and talk shop. J. Scott Campbell signed print.

Origin and 1st appearance of the Shocker. (Herman Schultz). Peter Parker moves into an apartment with Harry Osborn. The road of best intentions? Poor Harry will be deemed nutzo by the time everything is figured out, and good old Spider-man will have a time keeping his secret identity, you know, a secret! Shocker or shocking! The villains were out in the night knowing what we know now or had ideas of suspicions about Parker, but then and there, it was perfectly normal to keep up the secrecy to all! According to Peter Parker who is trying to sort it all out, through emotional turmoil, questions arise. Like, who do you trust? Peter Parker is finding out what it means to be the person underneath the mask, he's not the only one. Many a time these costumed "heroes" will be deemed villains, and some actually are? If James Jonah Jameson has anything to say about it, these are all the stories that matter! Time will come for these, can't help but buy Silver Age!
Complete with a back cover picture of information about where you get a battery recharge, with the prescreen pass before released publicly to theaters of, "The Current War!" Featuring Tesla as an innovator and Edison as a go getter! Even Tom Holland who is the Spider-man actor guest stars, a "shocker" of a story between claims to fame and keeping inventions hush hush with electricity, lest they be copied or beaten to the punch! Jolts and wattage may vary!

1st Mary Jane on the Cover, I was lucky to Spidey sense this out at Fan Expo Dallas in 2019 from Duncanville Bookstore, a vendor, LCS. Their grading said it was a 7.5 and they hit the grade on the button! Good news a Local Comic Shop that I can depend on the grade from, and Mary Jane, you crazy girl! She knows how to dance, party and get in her kicks. Never really kicking Peter to the curb, she hangs on, the nerve. Keeping vested interest, maybe she'll teach Parker to let loose. All the while, the Amazing Spider-man is swinging every night to keep it safe in town, without losing his own sanity. Getting a girl in the end and building the trust that accumulates will ease the pressure, yet there are many relationships that will come and go within Parkers life or realm. He may learn that he can't save everyone, though to save himself, he must try!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Adam Hughes Sketchbook! Whose pages are featured throughout my registry, both DC AND Marvel. The belted-out tunes called the "BIGGEST HITS!" It's a hard knock life sometimes.

Gwen! Gwen! Gwen! 1st Cover. She's pretty tied up with the surroundings that match the color blonde of Gwen's hair! These are the early issues, and inside the books Mary Jane has already been introduced, keep the train rolling! Gwen and her family may seem innocent and naturally you would think that. Is there any weakness of exploitation under that veneer? A villain worth their salt will see through the day to day to put those worries under wraps and keep Spidey going for broke. Got to Save them All! It's a Spider-man hustle to be on time, precise and make everyone held accountable within reason. I think this is the back cover picture that Stan Lee envisioned for the Stacy character, a genuine bad girl who is good at getting the job done. Gwen got the job done, she was a bit of an innocent strength that bred compassion and thoughtfulness. How awesome it would have been if the name of the movie was Atomic Blonde Stacy!
Complete as a back cover picture of the women we think about when someone like Gwen enters the room! That is all the mystery that we need with the women of our lives! A little edge to curb the stress, and yet it teaches us to stand up and have some responsibility! Comics, they are the illustrated adventures of lessons, showing examples while swinging from a web.

Origin and 1st Appearance of "Kangaroo" (Frank Oliver) Another Half Price Books Find that was READ and put away, nice to now have it slabbed. The guy grew up with Kangaroos and is trying to get used to city life! HAHAHA. Life in the city and country are very different, and when you're trying to do right, misunderstandings happen. Spidey really never was good at calming someone down. I can't count the times that his mouth just escalated things, simple things. It was always aggravating. He was sometimes too salty for what was tried to be portrayed as, "Peter Parker? Oh, what a sweet boy." lol Given the times and era of Parkers upbringing, I think Aunt May was probably too lenient, and yet, Parker the Spider-Man was out fighting crime and having real dangers. This issue may seem more of an "adventure", yet those don't get a pass for childish behavior.
Complete with a back cover picture of the memento and souvenir from boardie punisherpunisherpunisher, or simply my boardie friend Chad, who visited from Australia! Koala and Kangaroo Too! Mugs for a double cup of Java! Pressing Candidate

1st appearance of Morbius, the Living Vampire (Doctor Michael Morbius). Lizard appearance. Last 15 cents issue. I bought this 2022 December as prices are tending to come down a bit. I've owned the 2nd appearance and origin for quite some time, although I wanted a decent mid-grade copy of the 1st app, I could never swing it until now from eBay. Older label, and sure to fit the collection nicely! They even spelled the "Morbius" name correctly on the 1st appearance as opposed to the 2nd, a running joke. The movie was dismal but when it came to the silver age of comics, it is still worth a pickup! This #101 issue is just after having ran for 100 issues, and they weren't quite done with the Amazing Spider-man story line, it would be built on the backs of "greats" for years to come. I'm just happy to have grown up hearing of the older tales, and to now see them celebrated, is a sight to see! $503 Cost.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Lisa Frankenstein!" As the search for body parts continues in comic and movie form, you decide which is worse: the feeding to stay alive by blood or harvesting parts of those passed on to reattach to the living dead? Those are spine tingling sensations that are Vampires and Frankenstein's alike!

1st appearance of Sha Shan, who is an Asian Character that Eddie Brock tries to date, seemingly it gets heated, and they don't always agree on the relationship. She could be used in Eddie's story and/or be a more developed character for sure! A David Micheline letter in the back, who went on to work in comics. Yes, it isn't a new love story, yet it's the most probable. The actors and actresses in the Venom Sony movies are from all backgrounds. Tom Hardy tries his best. I was there for a prescreen several times. It's fun to think about, yet the role needs some work, they've expounded in the comics with a kid for Eddie. Sha Shan has moved on to government work as well, so if the Spidey and Venom universe is to be all inclusive, we'll have to wait and see where it all winds down the relationship trail. For sure we like the action, and quality to the characters always needs to happen!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Midway!" Integral to the situation of Vietnam, which this comic features Flash Thompson's plight in the war, there are the tales of compassion. While the world of comics tried to find love in the balance for the high cost that some had to pay, comics also told of the avenues and attitudes involved!

1st appearance of Hammerhead. Doctor Octopus appearance. That Hammerhead is one mean hombre! Similar to Flat-top in Dick Tracy, we've got the flat head and big forehead. Also similar, is the fact it seems to be a gangster motivated villain, that gets around! All we need is a tommy gun and a brief case and we've got a spy tech thriller. Spidey's sarcasm goes over like a lead balloon and makes the straight-talking Hammerhead furious. Not willing to play the game of tag with the Spider-man, old Hammerhead goes in for the headbutt. Ka-plow! Those webs better hold old hot head to the rafters. In only 6.5, which is fine +, but I'll take it. Gives you the chills to think of the idiosyncrasy that was this time for comics, relative to the period that they take place and represent. The early 70's speaks back to television, such as Scooby-Doo, "Where are you?" A bunch of quirky fun! $83 Cost.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Bad Times at the El Royale!" Gangsters were everywhere at this time of publishing, and the movie takes place as a similar in picture time period piece. Brazen are the gangsters that aren't afraid to show their face or usual hide outs! Enter Hammerhead!

Harry Osborn becomes the Green Goblin and the plans for the spider-mobile begin! Lots of ACTION INTENSIFIES!! Human Torch and Kangaroo Appearance! Oh Kangaroo, you just don't know what is behind the actions you do. Never realizing the bigger picture and to have any real motive. Harry? You've just gone crazy, picking up a mantle that will never be enough to quell the motive. Spidey soon after has his questions too yet will always lean and lean hard on his support network. These are the lives of the rich and famous. Ha! Makes for a splash page of, "What will come next?!?" I bought this from the Dave and Adam's website for around $175. A 9.6 for that price in 2017 or 2018 was a good price. Even with the events of media and such, these Goblin issues are numerous but exciting! I was new to them, so I tried to add to the collection the best I could and am super happy with this addition. $175 Cost.
Complete with a back cover picture of a little earlier in the run, issue of Amazing Spider-Man #125, to know what Spidey is coming off the heels of, and a key issue in its own right! Spidey keeps having to be defensive when the "villains" get the first strike!
