Set Description:
Strange Tales, many strange 1sts with many tales of yesteryear, will one prevail above all? Lots of fun and captivating covers, such as the Origin of Dr Strange, which is also the 2nd appearance of the Sandman. Can these be for perusal already!? Woo-Hoo! Time passes and every villain has an issue to deal with, and sometimes they never let it go! The goings on of all those involved are impacted. Picked up on the fly, or at a con? Some villain's stories are hard to find in the mean streets!
Strange Tales are like the classics, with many appearances of importance and collectability, that can take off to new destinations and books for the registry!
The tales that strangely are brought about to inspect those curious circumstances. Whether it be by a Paste in a Pot by Pete, or even a Sandman playing with fire in a glass ceiling kind of way. On to those tales to come and everything in between, lessons learned come in any form that we hear a call to become noble or persevere! No longer with heroes on the sideline, and as for the good Dr. Strange he'll get around to becoming more productive, and if not for himself, it is for others benefit he can sometimes carnally muster. Being on the side of humor, it takes some to withstand all the wiles around, but steadfast a hero will be, when they find that substance that causes change. It often comes in strange and mysterious ways, but not playing with fire but by learning what is safe! Don't let others be sucked under by your own liberties, many a faithful and true lesson therein with substance.

Human Torch Story Begins! 1st Solo Human Torch Story Since 1954! Recap Origin of The Fantastic Four! Love me some classic Torch! Bought this very good condition copy off the Dave and Adam's website for a decent price, making it a decent pick-me-up to have this classic in the collection. A bit of fade to the book that I couldn't notice in the pictures though. Glad the grade holds true, thank you CGC. We've all had days where we are the donkey who is hungry, between 2 equally desired portions of food. Do we then starve? Who do we save? Hubba-Hubba-Hubba, who do you trust? Sometimes the decision is not right or wrong! It is only what we know in that situation that determines what we can accomplish, and not always with equal benefit. The Human Torch faces this plight, and the savior may just have to take the rest of the week off, after this day's work. How is it that he can touch others and not burn them. That is a fun thing to think about.
Complete with a back cover picture of the Overstreet Price Guide #33, with a cover that started it all for the "Marvel 'Type' Industry" that also would inspire the likes of the Human Torch and Johny Storm!
Grader Notes:
fade front cover;
moderate creasing to cover;
moderate wear all corners of cover;
moderate wear all edges of cover.

1st appearance of Doctor Strange, Ancient One, Nightmare and Wong. 1st Paste-Pot Pete and Wizard team-up. King Kong ain't got nothing but a sweet reign down on a parade! Glue and paste followed by human torches that post up to defend the backboard of an all-out NBA JAM! Complete with imposters frame jobs and other cornucopias full of puzzle pieces to put together. Portraits of types and shadows that keep the river bending and taking its stones to slay giants. It is in the laurel and hearty handshake that wraps up the prize seeking out the kids of the Silver Age! None other than a "Strange Doctor" with no prescription needed but the humbly sought wisdom that comes from realization of "truth and justice!" An American way can be sought after in that pursuit but for kids to understand it comes at a time that takes those back issues through the 70's, 80's and onward!
Complete with a back cover picture of the "screen" at the actual prescreen of the movie with the "good", "Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness!" Those were troubled times, singing Green Day here! You know I cannot lie; the doctor is off the wagon and "Hitching a Ride?" What can now become of the mangled treatment of humanity for Stephen's origin, when some fast knowledge and a quick turn a phrase are a passerby of idioms of wisdom? Stan suffers us those quips of triage and eloquence with a disturbing look at a peaceful transition.
Grader Notes:
heavy wear all edges;
medium tear left top of front cover;
moderate spine stress lines to cover;
multiple staple detached front cover
tear left top of page(s) 1 & 2.

Origin Doctor Strange! 2nd appearance of Sandman. Spider-Man appearance. I got this at Fan Expo Dallas 2019 for a real fair price, the fairest priced slab there, and it is now mine! Sandman in movies, Sandman in comics, Sandman bringing a dream! Glad to have eyed this down and having the guts to purchase it. I realized that Dr. Strange origin is a nice score too. I hope origins start to take off, because sometimes those change with the times. I like the cover, and I know glass is somehow made with fire and sometimes sand. I think. I've often wondered if that was a solution to the Sandman problem. Originally a Spider-man villain, and goody two shoes Spidey, isn't too much for permanent solutions. At least most of the time! There is the Sandman who is always looking to finish the deal, with no compromise, as he has plans for a Spider-man!
Complete with a back cover picture of "THE Sandman!!" In another arena that will knock my socks off and put them back on clean and dry. No cracks in the sand here, it is Adam Sandler as a Cracking Joke Gut Laugh Busting King! Doing a stand up "comic" show, he will even sing the jokes with guitar and melody! We've got "comics" out the wazoo!
Grader Notes:
crease full left of back cover;
light wear full top of front cover breaks color;
light, multiple water stain back cover;
small crease right bottom of front cover.

1st appearance of Magus. Warlock begins. Strange Tales & Warlock in indicia. A story of splitting of minds and cutting off that which offends. If something offends you, is it to be done away with? Some things and ideas are expressed in the book of which can be found among humans, as well, and the "HIM" character has to deal with a Magus of opportunity to rid himself of the character traits, to wit, he despises. A long, long time ago, a thought of being was that we've been called to greater things and beliefs, but that doesn't mean that we are without some of the tendencies of the nature of "man." No matter how perfect the intent, the now Warlock finds himself with a "strange tale", when Magus says, "We are one and the same!" It strikes down the character into believing that he had somehow hid or got rid of those carnal attributes. He didn't see it as right, nor see it in himself, but now it is becoming all too clear! The daily struggle is harder for some, but by Grace we were called and even unto Life itself with meaning! Everlasting creatures such as an "HIM" struggle to cope with that afforded in opportunity with time.
Complete with a back cover picture of the insides of this issue from an under copy, that shows how real the magnitude of Magnus. The vast galaxy of where Warlock comes face to face is spectacular! HIM stands now coming to grips with the great turmoil and struggle to comprehend!

1st appearance of Gamora! This character was my brother's favorite in the first Thanos/Avengers movie. She was quite the character in the Guardians of the Galaxy blockbuster. I've read Warlock 10 and the origin of Thanos and Gamora leaped off the page! The plan is to donate a Warlock #10 to boardie Crops068 (Brian). He's good people and is putting together a Thanos appearance run like I did with the Punisher and Mark Jewelers, but I needed a key issue to replace in the meantime, and this Strange Tales is IT!! This probably could get bumped to 9.2, but is fine as is, with colors that pop and have gloss. Got to take what is available and affordable sometimes. I try not to be too greedy, but that fear of missing out can be a real booger bear. Gamora is still in our hearts as the "love interest" for Star Lord, and that takeaway means that even with duties and saving the galaxy someone can have time to enjoy the daisies. Not all are roses of course, but that is in the back of our minds, as ties that bind keep us showing the flavor and spice!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "A Clock in the Walls!" Unfortunately, a movie I saw that too is about foolishness and a Warlock, that somehow overcomes evil with what I'd consider similar evil. Two sides of the same coin! It is quite similar here to this issue of Strange Tales, where the entity draining the power of the now "Warlock" decides not to 'kill him but instead make him a slave!" Getting hard to find entertainment, but it does make you think! ~ to paraphrase Yoda.
Grader Notes:
light bends to cover;
light creasing to cover;
light pieces out to cover.

2nd appearance of Gamora, a Half Price Books find! Nice respectable grade, the green machine is still out for anarchy, given her beginnings! I could have sworn this was a 9.0/9.2, but with that black cover, the defects probably stand out a bit more. I like the Thanos theme that my friend had in trying to collect all appearances of Thanos. I had the same idea with the Punisher, but then added Mark Jewelers to those criteria and got stuck after the 1st 3 book appearances. Thanos spans time and space and is a brute force that usually results in instant casualties the minute he arrives. That was a Bowling for Soup, Texas Natives, song: "It is never too late to be, another late-night casualty! I bet they didn't teach that in the office. It was quite a trait that Thanos came by honestly, and in the beginning unfortunately with some help from Gamora. When the student surpasses the teacher, then the student will have peace? In a galaxy this far away, it just gives "HIM" who is also "Warlock" time to himself that keeps getting interrupted. He doesn't know life choices that well, but he does the best as he is able!
Complete with a back cover picture of a $2 find and it has some damage, but at $2 I'll take it and assess at home! Strange Tales has many "classic cover" CGC label designations, including this issue #107, and that makes for some fun finds and reads with art! Antique Store finds!
Grader Notes:
light bends to cover;
light creasing to cover;
light spine stress lines to cover.
