Set Description:
One of the best Golden Age series that no one has ever of (the first 15 at least). Well at least that what it seems like. Not to slight the rest of the series as latter issues actually contained some Frazetta artwork and overall had some gorgeous painted covers but these first 15 are just so appealing. Actually these first 15 were named Reg'lar Fellers Heroic Comics then with #16 a name and genre change came.
Bill Everett's Hydroman dominates many of the covers and then some other oddball superheroes come along a bit later. I'm a Bill Everett fanatic and granted he is famous for Sub-Mariner but Hydroman's not a bad water-logged hero himself. Overall, some exciting covers and even the back covers of a few are ads for Reg'lar Fellers.
This set is nearly complete. Just missing a slabbed copy of #13. I have two raw copies but but both are in the 2.5-3.0 range so I'm holding out for a nicer copy either raw or slab-worthy. A nice #13 has eluded me for a while but the quest continues.
Check this set out - if you're not familiar with the books, I think you'll enjoy the covers on these.
