Owner's Description
Visitors,,, What's your comment on this Jefferson? Black Beauty, or not!
I'm just taking a guess at it, if anyone can give me your thoughts on it, It'd sure be appreciative...
Would this coin fall under a Black-Beauty Category? The NGC Label doesn't label it that way. I know back in these
years the quality was a real problem, and much of this Issue were dark or black in color with many surface nicks on them. Searchin' for Dark Mark-free gems like this coin above, is scarce and hard to find.
The 1958' Jeffersons had most of these, where with the 1959' date, only a few were found. I bought this because of
its Gem Apperance and Strike!
This extraordinary coin has a distinctive very dark finish from being sintered or left in the furnace too long during the annealing process. This is the first I've seen in this grade, where the quality lies on both-sides of the coin. I believe this is very scarce to find in Dark-Gem Condition.
