Owner's Description
Early in 1945, US Forces arrive In the Pacific on Iwo Jima with our U.S. Marines. On March 16, our troops took control over it from the Japanese, but at the cost of 20,000 American casualties. A photographer snapped a photo of our Marines planting our US Flag on the top of this little Island. This photo made National Headlines not only
in our homeland, but around the world as well.
In April 12, 1945 President Franklin D. Roosevelt dies of a cerebral hemorrhage at age 63. Roosevelt being one our
our most-loved Presidents, had (4) terms in office. In honor of this man, like Jefferson with our nickel, Franklin is still currently on our dime coinage today. Harry S. Truman immediately steps in becoming our next president on June 21 1945.

With these 1945 Denvers, the condition was a mixed bag. There were some really nice flashy/lustrous coins,
to where most just wasn't that well struck. It didn't catch the eye appeal to most collectors, this is where having
patience is the key in finding ones like in the photos above.
