Synopsis:
Following the attack by Task Force VII, the superheroes are largely powerless and scattered. However, they are starting to form an underground resistance to Waller's regime. Batman sneaks into Titans Tower looking for Cyborg, the only person who has a hope of stopping the machines. Unfortunately, Cyborg has been infected by a computer virus while trying to break into the Bureau of Sovereignty's systems and is drawing massive amounts of power from the grid trying to fight it off. As such his location is obvious and its only a matter of time before Waller sends someone after him. Batman asks if he's learned anything, and Cyborg reveals that Waller has a Mother Box, which she is holding somewhere south of Gamorra.
Suddenly Paradise Lost, one of the Amazos imbued with Wonder Woman's powers, bursts in and attacks them. As they fight, Batman notices that Paradise Lost speaks in an archaic, almost Victorian-era manner very distinct from Failsafe. This suggests that Failsafe is not controlling Task Force VII directly or, as Batman had assumed, copied his programming into them. Batman tries to defend Cyborg but Paradise Lost easily overpowers him. Failsafe recalls Paradise Lost and they leave with Cyborg, allowing Batman to get away.
Barry Allen, the only speedster who still has his powers and the only form of communication the heroes have, runs in with a message from Wonder Woman. She asks if Cyborg is safe and he replies that Victor was taken but managed to locate Waller's power source. He says he will recruit Catwoman to help him get it.

Trivia:
- Paradise Lost saying that Batman "has his will but lacks his power" and its voice sounding "Victorian" is a reference to the Batman of Earth 19 whose Zur-En-Arrh counterpart was supposed to possess one of the Task Force VII Amazos in the Earth 0 Zur's original plan.
- This will be once again repeated in Wonder Woman (Volume 6) #11.
