Story Title: Getaway!
Summary:
Jetstream is furious with Empath for endangering him during their battle with the New Mutants (see 2nd scan). After striking Empath, Jetstream is mind-controlled by him into apologizing to him. After further threats by Empath, Emma Frost orders them all to class. Empath thinks he can block his thoughts from Emma but she hears them. She decides to keep a close eye on Empath.
In class, Emma talks to the Hellions about their performance. Surprisingly, Empath admits he was wrong. Emma suspects him of deceit but let's it go for now.
Thunderbird questions why they have to fight the kids and what they were doing in the Hellfire Club to begin with. He want's to fight the X-Men for revenge over his brother's death.
Tarot sees "love" in her cards when thinking about the New Mutants and it stirs up doubt in her mind. Emma reads the doubt and decides not to do anything about it psychically yet, due to the fact that she still doesn't fully understand Tarot's powers. It might harm more than help.
Meanwhile, the New Mutants are being held in a lavish room that has an inhibitor field on it, keeping them from using their powers. Kitty explains that Emma wants them all for membership into the Hellfire Club, by force if necessary. Roberto is still in pain from Tarot's attack in the battle, so Kitty massages him to give him some relief.
Rahne questions why Emma said that Kitty was cooperating with the Club. Kitty denies it and calls Emma a liar.
Elsewhere, Dani and Illyana have teleported into Limbo, where Magik grew up. Illyana's out cold and after Dani comes to, freaks out, and removes some demon threats with her power, S'ym shows up and takes the girls to a safe place to rest. Once Illyana wakes up and heals herself, she teleports Dani and herself back to the Hellfire Club.
But they show up a year into the future and see the New Mutants and the Hellions all in the Hellfire outfits and acting like best friends! Where is the Professor and the X-Men? Still missing?
Emma shows up, having sensed familiar psychic thoughts, so Magik teleports them again, being more careful, and manages to get them through Limbo and back at the Club with only a week having passed.
After Dani makes a phone call to Xavier's Mansion with no response, Illyana keeps lookout while Dani sneaks into the other kids room and wakes up Rahne to get them all out. But the Hellions were alerted by the phone call and Illyana is subdued to unconsciousness by Thunderbird.
With the White Queen in Boston, the Hellions propose a challenge. One of them, against one of the New Mutants, in a 1 on 1 duel. If the mutie wins, they go free. If the Hellion wins, they stay and join up. Dani reluctantly agrees and the players chosen are Jetstream and Cannonball!
They perform the challenge in the Combat Room, fashioned after the Danger Room, and after Sam ultimately defeats Jetstream, Emma shows up with Sebastian Shaw (Hellfire Club Leader), and declares null and void any pre-arranged agreement.
Cannnball attacks Shaw to no effect. Sunspot attacks as well with the same result. Shaw has the ability to absorb any blow!
During the fight, Kitty manages to phase through the Control Room's controls and throws it all into chaos! T-Bird orders everyone outside, but surprisingly, Catseye helps Rahne get Bobby out to the other Muties in the chaos!
Rahne offers Catseye to leave with them but she refuses, and the newly-aware Illyana teleports the Muties through Limbo and back to the Mansion!
Once there, the Muties contemplate what it will mean to go on without Xavier or the X-Men. They held up against the Hellions, but couldn't do anything against Emma and Shaw.
Suddenly, Dani sees a vision of the bear that killed her parents. It tells her to prepare for the death of her friends as well....

Personal Comments:
In this issue, we learn more about the Hellions. Both their personalities and their powers. We also learn that Illyana can teleport, but has to go through Limbo to do so, and might travel through time as well as space.
This added a whole new element to Magik. I was highly curious how this might affect later encounters!
Empath is revealed as even more dangerous than I previously thought. NASTY! But the rest of the Hellions seems to have a sense of fair play for the most part.
Sebastian Shaw's ability to absorb any blow is finally revealed in all its glory and I must say. REMARKABLE!!
The kids managed to barely get away (whew!) but what does the new bear vision mean?
Can't be good!
