The earliest Gold Half Eagles are the Draped Bust design, the earliest coins had the small Eagle reverse, this coin has the Heraldic Eagle reverse. Only 316,867 of these where minted from 1795-1807. This AU50 example has very nice eye appeal, with even wear, nice surfaces and color, and good remaining detail. It is also
an interesting over date variety.
