This 1858 Flying Eagle Cent is of the Large Letters Variety and was graded AU Details by NGC.It apparently was cleaned many years ago but still does not greatly detract from the coin’s appearance.This coin was struck just prior to the Start of the Civil War.Unknown at this time,the approaching war would be the bloodiest war in the country’s history even to this day.This war would divide a country as well as families and cause much destruction especially in Southern States.President Buchanan was still in office in 1858.
