Owner Comments:

This coin is an Early Capped Bust Quarter dated 1818 graded as Fine -Details Cleaned and attributed as B-4 by NGC.The cleaning appears to be an old cleaning and doesn’t detract from the coin’s appearance very much.James Monroe was the Nation’s 5th President and served two terms in office between March 4,1817 and March 3,1825.During his time in office Mississippi became the 20th state admitted to the Union,Illinois the 21st,Alabama the 22nd,Maine the 23rd and Missouri as the 24th.Missouri was admitted as a slave state on August 10,1821,after an agreement known as the Missouri Compromise in which Maine was added as a free state.
