The reverse design changed in 1952 in order to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Van Riebeeck's landing in Cape Town. Dromedarius the Dutch sailing ship sailing into Cape Town in Table Bay with Table mountain in the background. A tiny V.O.C is shown in the sea to the right of the ship. INSCRIPTION: * SUID - AFRIKA * 1652 - 1952 * SOUTH AFRICA * 5S
