Medal, 1889, AR, OSWEGO COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SILVER MEDAL, United States, NGC MS61PL, Cert# 4006468-001. Handsome and High Relief Silver Medal, 49 Mm. Catalog: Julian AM-63. Awarded To B.F. Nutting. Description: Full figure of Ceres on the obverse, standing in a field of cut wheat, gathering same, with plow behind. Reverse with an open agricultural wreath, surrounded by legend OSWEGO COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, inside the wreath inscribed AWARDED TO / B. F. NUTTING/ WOODVILLE, N.Y. / FOR BEST HERD / GUERNSEY CATTLE / 1889. The toning is pleasing silver gray and the strike displays bold relief. Purchased at ANA Stacks Bowers Auction Chicago, Lot 1120, August 2013.
