Owner Comments:

Medal, 1888, AR, UNITED BOWMAN OF PHILADELPHIA, AWARD MEDAL, Julian-UN-35. Silver, 38 mm. NGC MS62, Cert# 3740928-007. Obv. Portrait Male with Long Hair, Wreath, Bow and Arrows below Portrait, Reddish Silver Tone; Rv. United Bowman above, of Philadelphia below, Circle Wreath, Banner at angle, Field Day inscribed within Banner, Center Blank. This was made to be presented as a prize medal but since it was not inscribed with a recipient’s name it was presumably never issued. Ex. Heritage, 1/2014, Lot 10803; Ex: Americana Sale (Stack's-Bowers, 1/2012), lot 6173. From The Marlor Collection. History: The Club’s trophies and documents were given to the local Historical Society in 1888, now the Atwater-Kent Museum is custodian for the records and trophies as the Historical Society has shifted its attention more to written artifacts and history. The Club is still in existence.
