Owner Comments:
This medal was advertised back in 1901 as the "official medal" of the Pan American Exposition. Careful study reveals there are many varitites of this medal with the famous Beck desgin. I have identified at least 5 different obverse dies and 4 different reverse dies. This medal is one of the most common of all available from the Expo and rates an R2 if not an R1. Always popular, medals with the original hangers are harder to find and fetch $75 to $100 or more depending on condition of the ribbon.
This is near gem example.
