Owner Comments:

Double taler issued by the cathedral chapter of the prince-bishopric of Eichstätt after the death of prince-bishop Johann Anton von Zehmen in 1790. The canons of the cathedral chapter ruled the bishopric during the interregnum ('sede vacante') between the death of the bishop and their election of a successor. The names of the 15 aristocratic canons are displayed on the tree. Classified as Zepernick 80.
