The reverse design for the Half Penny shows a Dutch East India merchantman in almost full sail on the sea. The inscription found on the 1923 Half Penny reverse remained the same for 1924, 1925 & 1926 with no coins struck for 1927. The denomination was reflected at 6 o'clock on the coin and reads: "1/2 PENNY 1/2". Reverse design artist: Kruger Gray (KG above waterline next to ship) Obverse design artist: Bertram Mackennal(BM on truncation of bust).
