Owner Comments:
The Cape of Good hope coat of Arms - on a plain shield a lion rampant between three annulets. In chief, 3 roundels each charged with a fleur de lis. On top is the seated figure of Hope with a lamb and anchor at her feet. Variations of the lamb and anchor exist. The shield is supported by two mythological antelope. The antelope depicted resemble similar type animals found in South Africa and it is unsure if the drawing was meant to illustrate them instead. Variations of the horn lengths are depicted in the Hern's catalogue. The Coat of Arms provides a formal display.
