A BEAUTIFUL JEFFERSON SILVER WAR-VARIETY!
1945-P PCGS MS64 FS-030 - This FS-801 is the strongest of all the 1945-P doubled die reverses. This nickel
shows very clear doubling of monticello and the five cents. There were three of these ddr's in 1945' where this
coin here was more popular because of it showing more prominent doubling than the others. These three were
noted as -FS-801, FS-803 and the FS-804 varieties. This particular coin doesn't have the labeling which it should
of had on its holder, examining it on the reverse-side in the photo-bein pretty obvious the FS-801 Variety Type.
As many as 70% of all War nickels- from 1942-thru-1945' has been melted-down for their silver content in them.
this most sought after variety 801 is rapidly becoming more scarce and elusive. With the current prices of today I
feel and believe it's undervalued. I think collectors will be surprized the next few years,
This Jefferson nickel series as a whole, is still in its infancy. Once collectors realize the diversity this series offers,
it will then wake up! These jefferson varieties I believe will excalate in price. I'm content knowing even with this coin
in a low MS-64 Grade I got lucky finding a collector, purchasing it at less than $130.00 .
A sixty-five year old silver variety nickel, I'm curious, just how many are left in MS- condition being available.
