In 2006 the United States Mint produced a three coin set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle program. That set contained three different finishes. The proof, the reverse proof, and the burnished. The burnished was struck at the West Point Mint, and carries the "W" mint mark.
The three coins were available in the three coin set, or individually. Separately they initially sold for a whopping $19.95. So far the United States Mint has produced these Burnished coins in the following years, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
