Owner Comments:

Olive-gold and cream-gray toning adorns this satiny premium gem. The Denver Mint produced 7,480,000 nickels in 1934. They were the first since 1929. With the resumption of nickel production, speculators hoarded earlier dates and allowed the common 1934 to go into circulation. Fully struck gems are excedingly rare. Weak strikes are the rule for this key date and luster is average to good. Most have the large D mintmark of 1933 but a minority have the small D of 1917-29.
