Owner Comments:

In 1838 Christian Gobrecht adapted the Seated Liberty design to the twenty-five cent piece. By this time he had abandoned the No Stars design, and Ms. Liberty was now surrounded by 13 stars on the obverse. She also did not have the bolt of cloth hanging from her arm that would soon be added to her younger successors.

The present coin is an attractive, original piece with light grayish-brown toning and subdued luster.
