This bronze one centavo coin was minted by the Philadelphia mint for circulation in the Republic of the Philippines. The obverse of this coins is reminiscent of the obverse design from the previous US/Philippine Centavo series issued from 1903 through 1944. The reverse shows the shield for the Republic of the Philippines and that it was issued by the authority of the Central Bank of the Philippines.

This particular coin is a full "red" coin with just a few nicks in the obverse devices and virtually none on the reverse. Both the obverse and reverse are well struck..
