Philippines - 1958 50 Centavos - KM #190 - Mintage: 10,000,000
Minted in:
........ October, 1958: ............1,000
........ January, 1959: .....9,499,000 (dated 1958)

..........................Total: ..10,000,000

This 50 centavo coin was minted by the Philadelphia mint for circulation in the Republic of the Philippines. The obverse of this coin is reminiscent of the obverse design from the previous US/Philippine 50 Centavo series issued from 1903 through 1945. The reverse shows the shield for the Republic of the Philippines and that it was issued by the authority of the Central Bank of the Philippines.

This particular coin is well preserved with moderate scuffs and nicks in both the fields and devices. While I generally prefer a white, untoned coin, the toning on this one is more appealing than most.
