The U.S. 2 Cent Coin was first minted in 1864 towards the latter part of the American Civil War.The coin’s designer was James B. Longacre and all coins were minted at the Philadelphia Mint during this series’ short existence.The example shown here is the 1864 Large Motto which was graded AU 58 BN by NGC.At the time of mintage Abraham Lincoln was the Country’s 16th President.
