Here is a beautiful 1974-S Eisenhower Silver Dollar in MS-67 condition as graded by NGC.This coin is a brilliant,40% silver,eye catching large American coin with the NGC Eisenhower label.
On August 9th of this year,the same year during which this coin was struck,Gerald Ford became the 38th President of the United States following the resignation of President Richard Nixon.Vice President Spiro Agnew had resigned the Vice Presidency in late 1973 and President Nixon nominated Gerald Ford to be Vice President.When Gerald Ford became President,after Nixon’s resignation,there became a vacancy in the Office for Vice President at which time President Ford nominated Nelson Rockefeller for the Vice Presidency. On December 19,1974 Nelson Rockefeller was sworn in as the 41st US Vice President.
These were trying times in American history as the Vietnam War had ended for the U.S. in 1973;but,lasted until 1975 for North and South Vietnam.The Vietnam War cost 58,000 American lives and nearly 2 million Vietnamese lives.Watergate ended a Presidency.Nixon became the only President to resign from office.
