This coin was minted in commemoration of the 1995 Beijing International Stamps and Coins Fair (noted on the coin in Chinese writing on the Temple of Heaven side of the coin). The commemorative description from this year and all following years appears within the ring of the coin on the Temple of Heaven side at the bottom. The coin obverse design is with the Panda holding the large twig (large and small twig panda regular issue design varieties were minted in 1995). The coin was minted at the Shanghai mint.
