This is one of only 57 Jefferson Nickels from 1956 that have ever been graded Proof 69* by NGC. No other Nickel from 1956 has been graded higher than this coin. It's about as close to being perfect as you will find! NGC reserves the 'Star' designation for coins with superior eye appeal for their grade. PCGS does not use a * designation in their grading.
