hese coins were stuck with Proof-Like surfaces by the US Mint in San Francisco for the republic of the Philippines to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Bataan Day (April 9th, 942). At this time, I don't know who designed this coins. The following is a photo of the
Fall of Bataan historical marker at the Bataan Provincial Capitol grounds.

Sealed in blood the permanent ties of friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and the United States. This marker is dedicated, 9 April 1952, to the memory of the gallant Filipino and American soldiers as well as civilians, who fought and died side by side in the defense of Democracy."
I own one of the finest known specimen which is a PCGS PL67. Unfortunately, I can only use that one in custom sets, so I acquired this beautiful specimen with the hope that it would grade a bit higher than a 65. Hmmm.
