The 1999 Dolley Madison Silver Dollar honors First Lady, Dolley Madison, on the 150th anniversary of her death. This is the first U.S. coin to feature the First Lady of the United States. The obverse of the coin features a bust of Dolley Madison. The reverse features a view of James and Dolley Madison's estate, Montpelier. An interesting fact about this coin is that it was designed by Tiffany & Co., and the jeweler's initials are on both sides of the coin.
There were 89,104 uncirculated and 224,403 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 graded dollars are plentiful and easy to find. The PF70 graded dollar is a little more difficult to find, but is not super rare.
