Owner Comments:
This 1935 San Francisco Peace Dollar is absolutely Blast White and as Fully Struck as a 35S can get. Top Pop for this tough San Francisco Date. 1935 was the Final year of issue and both a popular and elusive item in the higher Mint State grades. All of the major design elements of this particular specimen are well struck, and both sides are brilliant, with a magnificent satiny sheen that emanates from the virtually mint state surfaces. There are no distracting marks evident on either side of the coin. The few minuscule surface interruptions that exist have no depth, leaving this piece as one of the most attractive Superb Gem 1935-S Peace dollar specimens available. NGC Census in MS67 is 3 with 0 finer.
This coin carries the Joseph C. Thomas Collection Pedigree, and was last sold on the open market at a Heritage auction in May of 2009. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
Again, this is a date that’s notoriously weak. It’s not nearly as rare as the ‘34-S, but this specimen is an outlier — a freak. I love this coin for its strike, its originality and just for its great eye appeal. It’s so clean; I love it.
