Owner Comments:
This 1934S NGC MS-66 Peace Dollar is Absolutely Blast White and as clean as a 34S can be. The extremely strong strike produced fields that are virtually perfect, and other than some of the lightest of surface contact, the only visible marks are on the reverse with one tiny ding on the "E" in States, and a faint rub on the Eagles upper neck. This coin is an absolute STUNNER! Only three 34S Peace Dollars have ever been graded higher, two at 66+, and one NGC MS67 coin. PCGS issued the plus grade to two coins recently. In our humble opinion this specimen is far superior to both the PCGS 66+ Coins (Certificate numbers 37652386 and 38285277). This specimen is one of the finest 66's ever graded at this level when compared to all the 66's that have been auctioned in the past 10 years. Roger Burdette states in his "Guide Book of Peace Dollars" that the 34S is the rarest issue in Mint State Uncirculated condition. NGC Population in MS-66 is 13 with one MS-66* and one MS-67 coin. This coin has never been auctioned and has only traded hands through private collectors. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
This key to the series is incredibly well struck. What an example — perfect and white. The strike is great, and this coin is as good as it gets — a tremendous example for the set.
