Owner Comments:
The second commemorative released in 2012 was the Star Spangled Banner Silver Dollar. The coin was issued to commemorate the War of 1812 and features an obverse image of Lady Liberty holding up a U.S. Flag with 15 stars. The reverse of the coin features an artfully, full-coin image of a waving U.S. flag.
There were 41,679 uncirculated produced by the San Francisco Mint, and 169,981 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 graded dollars are plentiful and easy to find at an affordable price. There are five times as many NGC graded MS70 dollars than there are MS69 dollars. The PF70 graded dollars are also in plentiful supply.
