Owner Comments:
The 1858 gold dollar is one of the "sleeper dates" in the series. Mint state coins are somewhat scarce. According the experts, most of these coins were placed in circulation. The surviving Mint State were either saved by the limited number of gold dollar collector from that period or were set aside by happenstance.
