San Francisco's Dollar-Sign Jeffersons in High Grade of MS-66

I wanted to take this opportunity to show the 1942-S and 1944-S Jefferson diecracks, these two are well-known
in the Jefferson Series. These high grade $ die cracks are hard to find. In this year the 1944' had its'share of planchet roughness dye to tired dies. Finding any thats white and shows a beautiful luster like my 1942' die crack' will take some doing.

To explain these die cracks more in detail' is its extended use of the dyes' causing the dye to start breaking away. It appears as a raised-line above the surface of the coin. If your lucky' you may find one that cuts straight-down thru the S and dome/the building and steps. These would be a treasure to find, view my photos of these.

Bernard Nagengast did mention this in his book, The Jefferson Nickel Analyst. If your starting a collection in this series, I highly recommend buying his book,right-along side the The Red Book-David Bowers/Buffalo and Jefferson Nickels.
