The Georgia quarter was released on July 19, 1999 as the fourth coin released in the 50 State Quarter Program and the fourth released in 1999. Georgia, admitted into the Union on January 2, 1788, themed the coin, Wisdom, Justice, Moderation. It features the peach, a silhouetted outline of the state, live oak sprigs, and state of Georgia's motto, "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation. The coin is inscribed: Georgia; 1788; 1999, and E Pluribus Unum.
