The 1959 denver nickel:
In this year' these 1959 denvers were often referred to as the "Swan Song" of denvers. These were the last year
that the nickels showed a decent or even half decent surface on them. The next couple of decades is an example of
what I mean' - the quality/eye appeal with fullsteps just wasn't there in almost all coinage in that time era'.
What very few that does - will definitely show their high prices.
There are plenty out there that does show their brilliant-luster to them however',trying to find or purchase one a high
grade denver in this year w/full quality steps will certainly make your wallet lighter! This one I have shows a half-decent
strike,and I'm satisfied with it, that is' until one comes along with a better quality in a nice clean full-step. An' yes, I'd sure
be tempted' if the price was right.
B. Nagengast mentioned in his book that this was the last reverse of the 1940' thats available with a decent surface and
quality strike and steps.
