Mintage of 2,160,000. - Can you believe Ireland waited eleven years from the last minting of half cents to this 1964 mintage. The US was minting 10 of millions every year during the same time period. Just think how many coins the U.S. would have to mint if they didn't mint a certain coin for eleven years. This coin is light purple over the entire coin. Where the Red/Brown came from I don't know. There are 3 others tied with this one for top grade in the R/B category of the NGC census. I also have a NGC-MS64 R/B coin to back this one up. The reverse on it is a eye popping Light purple, bright magenta, and some highlites of blue.
