Owner Comments:
During the 1920s and 30s, the Netherlands emerged as an industrial power. The 1920’s saw the beginning of the building of dams called the Zuiderzee Works to reclaim large parcels of land. Then, in a particularly difficult year for Queen Wilhelmina, her mother and husband died in 1934.
This 1926 NGC MS-65 10 Gulden coin has a mintage of 2,500,000.
I started this set in 2009 with five coins that I purchased raw and submitted to NGC for grading. Among those five coins was this set's original coin that I purchased on August 17, 2009, and like the 1925 in that submission had an assigned grade of MS-64. Now, after nearly 3 1/2 years of watching the market for an MS-65 to become available, I bought this coin via an E-Bay "Buy It Now" listing on February 3, 2013.
