Owner Comments:

The Arizona State Quarter was released on June 2, 2008 as the 48th coin in the State Quarter Program. Arizona’s original Statehood date was February 14, 1912.

The reverse features an image of the Grand Canyon with a Saguaro Cactus in the foreground. A banner reading the “Grand Canyon State” separates the two images as a means of communicating that the Saguaro Cactus is not found in the Grand Canyon.

I visited Saguaro National Park in Arizona on July 6, 2012, and took the attached picture.
