The Olympic National Park is located on the Olympic peninsula of Washington. It was first established as a National Monument in 1909 and eventually designated a National Park in 1938.
The Olympic National Park quarter is the third to be released in 2011, and the eighth overall in the program. Another beautiful quarter! The scene on the coin shows a Roosevelt elk standing on the shore of the Hoh River. Mount Olympus in the background.
