Hot Springs Reservation in Central Arkansas was established in 1832. It was the country’s first Federal reserve. On March 4, 1921, Hot Springs became a National Park.

The Hot Springs National Park quarter is the first of 2010 and the first overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The coin features the façade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a thermal fountain in the foreground. The National Park Service emblem is set to the right of the door.
