Owner Comments:

Starting in 1892 Charles Barber introduced his new designs for the dime, quarter and half dollar. The new coins replaced the venerable Liberty Seated design, which had been introduced in 1836 on the Gobrecht Dollar. Although Barber’s obverse design for the dime was new, interestingly the reverse the dime did not change from the previous type.

The coin shown above is an attractively toned MS-66. There are full Proof mirrors showing beneath the toning which is duskily colorful. This is the proper “look” for an original 100+ year old Proof coin.
