Owner Comments:

High grade Jeffersons in 1964 are very difficult to find.Looking at the mintage you would think there should be tons of them. Nope. The Mint went for quantity and kissed off quality. There are also known to be a few examples of SMS coins dated in 1964. These were apparently produced as some sort of test run as these are extremely rare to find.

This nickel however commands a premium-price in the 2 Top Grading Services. I think most of these Jeffersons in the 1960's in mintstate 66 and Higher would be great coins to own. Trying to find these with brilliant surfaces with nice luster plus full steps. I also have one in MS67 thru NGC - With both the top grading services less than a dozen have been certified- why such low points- I just cant understand that. Searching for one in just MS-67 you'd better breakout your energy pills, you'll need them.
