Owner Comments:

I was really looking for a MS 64 and had the chance to acquire one about 15 years ago, at a good price but missed the opportunity (The dealer was quibbling with me over $25.00, so I walked away on principle!) I wanted one with a very sharp strike, so I picked this one up instead. The strike is almost perfect. Even at this gem level it can be a little flat around the thumb area. This one is a premium over other gem MS 65s in my opinion. I've only seen one that I liked better than this one and it was in a 1st generation PCGS MS 66 'rattler' holder. This one is pure white and frosty. It has virtually no abrasions on the devices and the center skirt lines and head are 100% full and the thumb area is very near being fully struck.

Important varieties:

V 101 – Mintmark position variety I.

V 102 – Mintmark position variety II.

Aside from the 1921 mintages, the 1938 Denver production of 491,600 Walkers was the lowest of the series. Because of this, many were saved and are much more available in MS than it's very meager mintage number would suggest but finding a really good one takes some time. This coin is and always will be known as a popular and classic key date Walker.

About 2600 coins known in all MS grades.
